BREAK WITH THE PLASTIC, WE’VE ALREADY DONE

BREAK WITH THE PLASTIC, WE’VE ALREADY DONE

We have replaced plastic with 100% compostable corn bags

Small acts. Small gestures. Small habits. These actions, a priori insignificant, are what can lead us to redirect the current situation. A critical picture and an environmental drift that must be curbed as soon as possible. Reducing the consumption of plastic is certainly a very important point. Say goodbye to single-use containers, committing to always carrying our own sustainable bottle. Or reduce the consumption of plastic bags, using alternatives such as paper or fabric bags. At Cool Bottles we have already taken that step. Our packaging is completely responsible. In it you will only find cardboard and a 100% compostable and 100% biodegradable bag made only with corns. Isn’t that cool? It’s our statement. We can say it louder, but not clearer. We need to break with the plastic now. With our bags of corn you can do many things. You can reuse them and give them a second life to store or transport what you want. Although they are very resistant, with the use they can break. What do we do then? Very easy. Throw them in the containers of organic stuff. Unlike conventional plastic bags, bags made of corn become fertilizer and not waste. In contact with soil and moisture they can decompose completely. Not like plastic bags, which can take decades to complete the composting process. Familiarize yourself with concepts like PLA PLA is polylactic acid. A super versatile material that is made from 100% renewable resources such as corn, a product rich in starch. This acid has similar or even better characteristics than plastics known as petroleum-derived PET. That’s why this wonderful biodegradable polymer made from renewable resources is already being used in a lot of places, as in making bags as cool as ours. Too good to be true? Yes, the PLA is great for our planet. Do you know the difference between biodegradable and compostable? These two terms can get confused, but calm, we give you all the keys not to get confused with these two concepts. Biodegradable bags are those that, under certain environmental conditions of temperature and humidity, are transformed into water, carbon dioxide and biomass. That is, they decompose. Thanks to this oxidation process they regenerate in the carbon cycle and leave no residue. Compostable bags are also biodegradable, as they can be broken down by the action of biological agents such as plants, animals, microorganisms and fungi. The difference is in two very specific ways. The first is time. They break down much faster than just biodegradable bags. It can take between 8 to 12 weeks to leave no trace. And the second is the fact that it becomes compost. Thanks to these materials we close the cycle of organic stuff, avoiding soil contamination or emissions caused by the transformation of waste. And between recycling and recycled? This difference is much easier, but not less important. We call recycling the process to which we subject a material used to recover it totally or partially. That is, when we throw a conventional plastic container into the yellow container or a green glass bottle, we are helping to recycle that material, preventing it from becoming a 100% waste. Within this term we could also talk about bags made of recycled material. This type of material is obtained after a previous recycling treatment. Thanks to this type of materials we give a second life and a second use to raw materials used previously. Once all these terms have been clarified, we can proudly say that the bags we use in Cool Bottles packaging are 100% biodegradable, 100% compostable and 100% recycled. Can anyone give more?
